North Carolina Healthcare Preparedness Coalitions
There are seven (7) North Carolina Healthcare Preparedness Coalitions (HPCs) that work with the common mission of facilitating communication, coordination, and collaboration between healthcare facilities, public agencies, and the State of North Carolina. Their primary goals are to:
- Strengthen Partnership Engagement
- Support Information Sharing
- Expand Medical Surge Readiness
- Improve Incident Coordination
- Promote Fiscal Responsibility
The Healthcare Preparedness Coalitions have an assortment of assets available to healthcare and emergency responder agencies to meet their goals. Examples of these assets are: shower trailers, mobile morgues, ambulance strike team assets, medical support units, water purification resources, generators, communications equipment, hand washing stations, decontamination trailers, and more. Capital Regional Advisory Committee (CapRAC)
Central Carolina Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (CCHPC)
CapRAC is based out of WakeMed Health and Hospitals, a Level I Trauma Center, in Raleigh North Carolina.
The coalition covers 5 counties: Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, and Wake.

Central Carolina Healthcare Preparedness Coalition is based out of Duke Health, a Level I Trauma Center, in Durham North Carolina.
The coalition covers 7 counties: Caswell, Durham, Granville, Person, Robeson, Vance, and Warren.

Eastern Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (EHPC) is based out of ECU Health Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, in Greenville North Carolina.
The coalition covers 27 counties: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne, and Wilson.

MidCarolina Regional Healthcare Coalition is based out of UNC Health Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, in Chapel Hill North Carolina.
The coalition covers 9 counties: Alamance, Chatham, Cumberland, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Richmond, and Sampson.

Mountain Area Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (MAHPC) is based out of HCA Mission Health, a Level II Trauma Center, in Asheville North Carolina.
The coalition covers 18 counties: Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey.

Piedmont Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (PHPC) is based out of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, in Winston Salem North Carolina.
The coalition covers 27 counties: Alexander, Alleghany, Anson, Ashe, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Scotland, Stanly, Stokes, Surry, Union, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yadkin.

Southeastern Healthcare Preparedness Region (SHPR) is based out of Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center, in Wilmington North Carolina.
